2.5 Curly Girl Staffers! Our girls Laura & Erin (with .5 on the way!!) model our new tees and their undying friendship.
Happy Friday all!! To celebrate the successful completion of one whole week of 2011 I have decided to do a give away! In truth, I had so much fun doing the holiday give aways I am having a little withdrawal. Mostly, I am just super excited that our new tees are back from the printer (they still smell all cotton-y and inky! I love that!) and just sitting here being adorable until we start selling them at the upcoming tradeshows and get them up online. So I figured at least somebody should have one!
In an effort to keep to my word 'grow', I am going to ask for your help. I need your help spreading the word about this little blog and about Curly Girl. I know many of you so graciously have tweeted or blogged about us in the past and every little whisper helps in small business land, so I appreciate it very much. It makes a huge difference to have people who genuinely love our product get so excited about it that they just can't keep it to themselves! Enthusiasm is contagious, and of course the best testimony there is. So if you would, tell us what you love about Curly Girl, this blog, or your favorite product and then tell the world!
To enter, comment on this post with your love note, and for additional entries, blog about it, tweet about it, facebook it, yell it from the roof tops, wear a sandwich board…whatever stirs you (just remember, they must be NEW blogs/tweets/etc and to leave a second or third comment with a link to your, um, expression). Each comment will be entered to win a Curly Girl Organic Tee of your choice!
The winner will be picked Monday 1/10 at 12 noon. (I will need a break from hanging shelving and putting together our showroom!)
Thanks in advance! You all are magic.
xoxo
I LOVE the Curly Girl necklaces. It’s one of the few things I have not yet purchased, but they are certainly on my wish list. I have used the cards to create wall canvases and framed art that give my apartment so much personality. LOVE CURLY GIRL!!!
I have loved Curly Girl Design since my friend Sarah sent me a card nearly 2 years ago. Since then, Curly girl has been my GO TO for gifts for my gal pals. No matter what, your cards always offer something to uplift my gals spirits no matter what’s going on: boy troubles, babies, weddings, etc. I love the wall plaques which are in my office AND in the homes of all of my besties (and my mom). The products are gorgeous, but most of all, the messages ring true and brighten your day—no matter what.
LOVE THE TEES!
What fun! I love your giveaways and your blog! I looked at photos of your house decorates for Christmas and drooled over them. Oh and i just ordered one of your creative convention posters to adorn my bathroom as well! Here’s to a great year ahead full of growth in all areas of our lives. Cheers
One of my goals for 2011 is to get more creative and get more connected and do some growing myself. And, in my efforts, I re-stumbled across the Curly Girl blog, and I keep going back every day for more inspiration! Love the blog and the business and wish you much, much success in 2011!
I am obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with Curly Girl Design and their blog! The website has the coolest stuff with extremely good little quips about life and how to live. The blog is even better with awesome pictures and stories about life and traveling. You should check it out! 🙂
Dear Curly Girl: your products put a smile on our face, help us to believe in ourselves & put the words in our mouths, to help us communicate to our loved ones. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your cards – they have an incredible way of expressing whatever emotion it is that I’m feeling. Sidenote- my mom just brought over a “Potential” magnet to me last night – my whole family thinks in Curly Girl terms (She has a group call the Blenders, so I always give her Umbrella items!)
This post from April 2010 shows just how much Curly Girl keeps reminding me I can do it:

These are fabulous. As with all of your products, they connect with me (and my friends) in a way that makes me think, “YES!” Also, “I wish I’d thought of that, but since I didn’t, I’m so glad that Leigh did and made it so fun and pretty so I could buy it and share it.”
Leigh, you are amazing. I love all the new Curly Girl from the doodad jars, to the new juice glass candles, to the new tshirts. It is going to be a great year.
I wrote my “love note” on my facebook page with links to all of your sites and even wrote on my blog about it.

I <3 Curly Girl. A friend introduced me to it about 5 years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. A holiday or celebration wouldn’t be complete without a gift from CG. I must admit – not only do I shop for others but I indulge in the creations myself. I just love the insipring quotes and the feel-good sense they evoke. Life wouldn’t be complete without Curly Girl – keep up the fantastic work! 🙂
I met Curly Girl when I visited the hospital gift shop while my then-fiance was recovering from a very serious car accident. Curly Girl was a bit of sunshine, a bright clear note, a bubbly giggle—which I needed at that moment! I bought a handful of notecards and a canteen (cape/tiara/change the world).
Love the site, love the blog, love your tweets. LOVE Curly Girl. And I would totally love to have one of the new tees!!
Love love LOVE me some Curly Girl! My husband and I just bought our FIRST HOME and are mid-remodel (but about the move in-ack!) I finally get my own sewing/crafty are and it’s all inspired by Curly Girl!!! I’m painting the feature wall a fabulous ‘pink moment’ and have framed all my favorite curly girl pictures to hang when the time comes!
i love cutly girl!
I am always surrounded by Curly Girl… framed prints in my office, my coffee mug, Christmas tree ornament, calendar at home, cocktail napkins, necklace and I even gave the reusable water bottles as bridesmaids gifts earlier this year. I love Curly Girl and will gladly share your blog!
I fell in love with Curly Girl since I heard your interview on Tranquility du Jour – your story is an inspiration to me because I would love to use my art and start a business. I love your posters, cards and mugs – your quotes are filled with insight and humor. Always puts a smile to my face!

Ooooh, so love these T-shirts and all thing Curly Girl. Waiting for my print to come in mail shortly!!
Off to tweet and facebook you 🙂
I discovered Curly Girl back in November and I am hooked. I was on vacation in San Diego,CA and was dragging my boyfriend around from store to store when I found your display in a cute little gift store. Well he was in trouble because just when he thought the shopping trip was over I couldn’t leave the display. I couldn’t decide which card to get, and ended up getting about 5. And then I thought to myself, how can I let these be a one time read as a normal card would be? So I decided that I had found ones for each of my besties and I would frame them and give as part of their Christmas presents. When we returned home I plopped in front of the Computer and was shopping and perusing for hours. I bought so many cards with the intent to frame and the holiday ones I bought and framed were my favorite decorations I put up this year in my new apartment. I bought some gifts for the fam and am constantly looking to see what new gift can I give to a friend and/or myself next. I check the blog daily and am inspired to get back to my scrapbooking. I want to do what you do when I grow up (even though I’m 27, and am plenty grown) I just feel so connected to the work you do and the messages you create. They are visually and emotionally stimulating and make me smile daily. I cannot wait for what you do next and know that I wil fall in love with the designs instantly. Here is to a New Year filled with creativity, inspiration and tons of Curly Girl for me : )
Leigh…I just posted the comment below + a link to your blog on my FB page. The first time I saw your work, I giggled with glee and knew somewhere east of the MN Tundra, a gorgeous kindred spirit was living her dream. Thank you for the brightness of your soul and the art you bring forth from it.
I love this woman…Leigh Cook. I have not met her in person, but I will one day travel to Boston area and hunt her down and give her a big ole squeezy hug for the quirky joy and beauty she creates. Some of you already know of her work (with a tiara and a cape…) And if you don’t, I recommend searching her out on FB as Curly Girl Design. Her whimsical mixed media style combined with a positive & humorous take on life never fails to brighten my day. Go. GO NOW. Love her.
Dear Curly Girl,
I fell in love with you when I saw some framed artwork at a yoga studio in Newton back in the day, and I had to order one for myself. You shipped it to me from your house! I no longer live in Boston, but my love for CG continues to grow, and Marmalade was on my must do list when I visited this Spring. My house is filled with your whimsy, and I smile because of your endless creativity and kindness.
I found Curly Girl Design in a little shop in Nashville Tennessee two summers ago. I was about to begin my senior year at college and trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life – grad school, law school, full-time job, year off. The opportunities and pressures and fears were enormous. I felt very on edge and very confused. But then I stumbled upon the card that read “She packed up all of her potential and all she had learned, grabbed a cute pair of shoes and set out to change a few things,” and I could just feel every word of that bubbling into my heart and giving me the most enormous hope. I was that girl. I was going to pack up my potential and a cute pair of shoes and change the world, even if I didn’t know exactly how I was going to do it. From then on, I was hooked. I loved everything about Curly Girl. It seemed to embody and say everything that I was feeling, everything that I am – like it is ok to be silly; to have dreams; that the little things do matter; that strength has to be tested; that good friends make life better even when life is hard and believing in yourself and having faith can get you anywhere.
Now Curly Girl surrounds me and makes my life a lot better. The cards are posted all of my office, I got multiple Christmas ornaments and I happily sip coffee out of Curly Girl mug. I repeat the sayings to myself almost every day and whenever I do, I feel that same feeling of enormous hope that I got when I first discovered and now it’s accompanied by a big smile and usually, a small giggle.
Leigh, I owe you a thank you. You have given me strength and inspiration and we have never even met. I am a loyal Curly Girl and will stay one forever.
Much XOXOXOXOO Curly Girl!!!
– Kim
My best friend and I would always go into this one store because they had great cards. We ran across Curly Girl and fell in love immediately. We would make special trips to that one store and then started seeing them in other places. Each time we find a store with your stuff we call each other delightedly to report of a Curly Girl sighting!!! I love your work because it’s intricate- the little messages are just as wonderful as the big ones!- and sweet. I love the quotes/messages because not only are the 100% true, but brilliantly written. I have at least 3 cards in frames all around my house! I LOVE THEM!
I remember like it was yesterday. My mom treated her three girls to a cruise for Christmas. One of our stops was in Key West. So after our Cheeseburger in Paradise and margaritas at 11:00 in the morning, we did some shopping down Duval Street. I can’t remember the shop’s name, but it was a wonderful little shop that carried Curly Girl. I fell in love with “helmet and a pedicure”. I couldn’t quite afford the wall canvas that the store carried, so as soon as I got home I purchased four cards of my favorite sayings and created a collage that I framed. I am afraid my love affair has now evolved into full blown stalking since I check out the online store at least weekly (waiting on a keychain to be back in stock). Thank you for all of your little lights you put into the world 🙂
I love Curly Girl!! They carry your stuff in one of our local stores and I love to browse and find new little items to add to my collection! I was introduced to CG by a friend and absolutely LOVE the quotes/illustrations/everything about it!;0)

Your work expresses a moment perfectly – from happiness to hardship. Three of my favorite cards to send are “They Could Not Remember A Time” (engagement/wedding), “The Light Remains” (loss of a loved one), and “Goodbye I’m Off To Join” (inpiration/encouragement). They say exactly what we’re all thinking in a simple but unique way. I’ll sport a Curly Girl tee around Chicago proudly!
After my comment above, I went directly to my blog and created the following post:

Luckily, my newest Curly Girl shipment came yesterday so I have some new stuff to show off!
I love Curly Girl.It seems like you’ve put into words thoughts I can’t quite seem to find words to say!
This blog and everything that is posted is visually and linguistically beautiful!
“After all that—she was surprised to find that she still knew the words to the song in her heart…and she began to sing along.”
This is the Curly Girl quote that reached out and caught my heart in a bear hug, at a time when I was beginning the work of reconnecting with the Self I had lost many years before. I bought this note card and immediately put it on my bulletin board, where I look at it every day, and more often when I need a little extra encouragement for the journey. Thank you for creating products that resonate with the parts of me that need a little more light!
My love note? Can I write it on my frickin darling new laptop skin? 2 people at the coffee place have asked about it and I send them right off to von Maur. so stinkin cute!
Thank you for the give away, I will cross my fingers and toes!
I love Curly Girl. When I was in Boulder last year, I found some products in a boutique and fell in love. My favorite saying is the Tiara and the cape. I’m a teacher and often feel like this quote is perfect for me. One of my students, without even knowing I liked it, bought me the magnet of the same quote for Christmas last year. The quote fits me perfectly!
Your designs caught my eye instantly! They are playful, colorful, fun and positive! yet they have just enough “sass” for the smartypants in me 🙂
I love the different textures and patterns used. Then, when I found your blog I was thrilled to get to go on your adventures and shopping trips(storyboards) with you. I beleive life is fun and you and your art portray that!
Posted on Twitter too! http://twitter.com/#!/miss_bryan
I love curly girl. My two best friends and I all live in different parts of the country, and Curly Girl connects us all back together. We are all teachers, and each of our classrooms has Curly Girl designs hanging in it. We often send each other Curly Girl cards or ornaments to brighten long days. Curly Girl sayings are so inspirational and are truly wonderful, and I cannot wait to be able to spread the joy that is Curly Girl on a t-shirt!
I love the emotion behind your messages- definitely a go to gift!
I “heart” Curly Girl. I’m a cyclist and “Life is tough. I recommend getting a manicure and a really cute helmet” made me laugh. I have a screaming pink helmet. Of course, my other favorite one is “I am fairly certain that given a cape and a tiara, I could save the world.” I love that you put her on the bike because I feel EXACTLY like that when I finish a long ride!
I love Girly Girl! This T is so fun! I hope I win!!!You make art that makes me smile!
My mom introduced me to Curly Girl a few years back when she bought me a Cape & Tiara magnet. From there, I was addicted. I love that there is a product for any and every occasion in life. I am saving up my money for a large canvas print to hang in my living room. For now, I have magnets, calendars, key chains…a little bit of everything.
My mom passed away this past October from Endometrial cancer. She was only 62. I am only 25. One of the last things she got me was the “‘Faith is believing that one of two things will happen,’ she said. ‘That there will be something solid for you to stand on—or that you will be taught to fly.’” magnet. It sits on my bathroom mirror and gives me an extra shot of “get up & go!” each day.
I was visiting a friend in Madison WI and we were shopping and went into a cute little boutique and that is where I was introduced and fell in love with curly girl!!! I think I purchased 12 cards and 3 stickie note pads that day 🙂 And ever since curly girl are the only cards I send and my friends love them!! Thanks so much for your creative whimsical inspirations!
p.s. i loved even more when I found out curly girl is a st. louis native!!
Hey Leigh! i ahve fallen head over heels for Curly Girl (and the blog) because of your style, originality, and inspirational quotes. when i don’t know what to say or how to say it, i can count on a curly girl ornament for my tree that embodies my past year, or a new journal to jot everything I’m thinking/learning/praying, and eat off a magical plate of cuteness. I am so proud of all you’ve accomplished and for your following your dreams. I hope I get to rock your tee on Ashley Avenue 😉
love,
me
the t-shirts! the t-shirts are here! I love these so much. I discovered CurlyGirl two summers ago on a vacation with my mum. I think her “go out of my way to be friends with her” were her favorite gift of christmas. thanks for sharing your words!

I love your stuff, it compels me out of the place I am into to the place I want to be & yes that is riding a bike wearing a cape & tiara!! Thanks for sharing!
What I love about Curly Girl is the positivity, creativity & expressiveness of your products!! It’s so refreshing to find such unique gifts in a sea of commercialized crap!! Love what you’re doing!
I just found Curly Girl recently & ordered a calendar – I love it!! It makes me smile!
Love the Curly Girl. You hit the mark everytime. I will sport this cute T with my hot pink boots!!
I cannot pinpoint when, exactly, I fell in love with Curly Girl, but I was drawn to the designs in a tiny shop on Nantucket years and years ago. I have spent hours on your website going through the products and admiring the messages. They never fail to inspire me :).
Curly Girl is my favorite way to decorate, and no matter the occasion, you always have the perfect gift. I have cut up previous years’ calendars to decorate my high school counseling office. The kids (and other teachers) love your inspiration. Your prints hang on my walls, your magnets adorn my fridge. I can’t wait to show you off to the world by wearing your shirts. Keep up the good work. ♥
I’ve always seen Curly Girl designs popping up here and there in cute little boutiques and fun local shops…. I love all of the designs! Always bright and inspiring and BEAUTIFUL.
Cannot wait to get my hands on a tee. 🙂 I am in love with the necklaces and there is always one to perfectly describe my feelings for each day. I own 3 of them and purchased one to give away as a gift. So fun. I enjoyed a 2010 calendar too hanging so wonderfully in my kitchen! Here is the link to my spreading the word..http://paperpedaler.wordpress.com/
LOVE Curly Girl!!! Thank you for being here and for “growing” this year!!
BLOGGED!!
http://blissfulblatterations.blogspot.com/
Thing thing I love about all Curly Girl Designs is the sheer spunk of being a creative, fema-nazi, girls can conquer the world with a margarita in one hand and sheer genius in the other. I have been following Curly Girl for several years and love your products!
why i love curly girl creations & blog: you speak my soul language. your words resonate in that core place, where a passionate “yes, Yes, YES” is spoken before it could even hope to escape my lips. your perspective & authenticity resonate so deeply with me; they are like light hitting a prism, exposing, spreading color & changing the landscape all at the same time. they’ve inspired my theme for the year, Awake, for i’ve been slumbering through life far too long. thank you for taking the risk of sharing your giftings with all of us!
Dearest Curly Girl (Leigh), I fell in love with you during a layover in MN. I was browsing a lovely gift shop and found your greeting cards. I envisioned them framed and hanging above my art desk for inspiration. My favorite is the cape and tiara. I love the quote so much that I later purchased the water bottle from the online shop, amongst other items. I heart you Curly Girl!

Blogging some Curly Girl love:
http://unfoldingcreatively.blogspot.com/
leigh: what a treat! i missed all the christmas giveaways (for good reason: unplugging!) but i’m so happy that you’re starting your 2011 year of growth with giving—-i truly believe on our power to send out goodness and its boomerang effect, coming right back to us.
curly girl mantra & products have inspired me for many years: partly as an artist and 100% as a woman. i’m warmer, more jolly & certainly more wholehearted thanks to your work!
this christmas i got my first curlygirl calendar, and promptly hung it next to my inspiration table (aka: desk) as a reminder that the year will hold much beauty, fun & focus. i’m off to fill 2011 with all the goodness & grace i can find!
always tweeting & blogging about how charming you are! http://heartpiercinglife.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-lineup-of-inspiration.html
thanks for the chance to wear my “heart on my sleeve” 😉
I love everything you do! I gave your coffee mugs to a group of friends for Christmas and told them all about your blog. Everyone who enters my house see’s my Curly Girl calendar and I tell them about you. I have bought a stack of your cards and they are the only cards I send out. I can hardly wait for new designs.
I have loved your stuff for years! I’m lucky to live near Scatter Joy in Appleton WI, and they have such an awesome display of your line! Your canvas prints are hanging on my walls, and I can’t wait to purchase more of your pieces!! I do glass art, and do fun, whimsical pieces, and my favorite thing is when customers giggle and make comments about how silly the pieces are, yet how true they are as well! So I am letting you know that you always put a smile on my face when I see your creations, simply put, YOU ROCK!!
I was just introduced to your blog through a friends posting on fb. I love it so far and am anxious to know more. The t-shirt is so cute and even cuter with a little baby bump under it 🙂 I might even wear one ~ don’t usually wear stuff with messages.
I have loved Curly Girl Designs since I bought notepads for myself and all of my friends (the cape and tiara ones). I adore your stuff, and love sharing your name with others!
LOVE everything about Curly Girl – most especially that it feels to me like “I was JUST thinking that” – but just not in such a succinct or clever way. And the art! Love the whimsy and love that are obviously embedded into each and every piece you produce. Looking forward to seeing the t-shirts!
I just tweeted a love note… to you 🙂
@beccascrazyboys
I discovered Curly Girl in a coffee shop while driving across the country in November 2009. My stop was college town in South Dakota. I felt so lucky to be able to find a really good latte in SD. But I was amazed to find the best cards in the world there. It was love at first site with Curly Girl designs. I buy them where ever I find the cards now. My friends thought I was crazy moving from Seattle to Boston, so I sent them the “off to join the circus” card and they finally got it.
And…. I just spread some facebook love 🙂
facebook.com/ourcrazyboys
I just discovered Curly Girl this past week while browsing through some little shops in Corpus Christi, TX. My best friend and I were enjoying a girls escape for 24 hours at the beach, and I was delighted to discover these little pieces of art that spoke to my heart and reflected my view of the world. I am particularly crazy about the design that says “I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world.” I could not say it any better myself! Thank you for spreading joy through your work. It certainly brightens my day and makes me smile.
I fell in love with Curly Girl a few years ago when I discovered a wall canvas at The Zoo Gallery in Grayton Beach. For a while, it was the only place I could find it, so I had to wait until the next vacation to lust after the wall canvases. I was thrilled when prints and, now many other treasures, started popping up in my favorite gift shops in Charlotte. The new tees are just the latest that I’m adding to my Curly Girl wish list! And there are so many of the sayings that sum things up, I usually have trouble choosing just one! Right now, though it is “Faith and Fancy”.
I tweeted some Curly Girl love on this snowy day: http://www.twitter.com/dcwildcat
I remember the first time I stumbled upon a Curly Girl product at a local gift shop…a journal, I think it was. After that I found greeting cards and purchased one for a special bride and groom. I immediately loved your work, the combination of drawn figures, cut paper, vintage text and a wonderful font for the message! I love the piece, “She dreams of mermaids & motorcycles…” and sent that to a friend who loved it as well. I do like the pieces that have the text on a more solid background as opposed to over the whole image, but that’s just a personal preference. Your work is fabulous and makes me smile every time…keep up the good work!!
I tweeted!

The only way to explain my love for Curly Girl is that I started to limit the amount of comments I made to the blog and facebook b/c I was worried I’d be viewed as a bit of a stalker, haha. I religiously read the blog and have yet to find cards more perfect than the ones you create. No matter the reason for the card, Curly Girl always says it best. I love all the mugs, magnets, etc and find myself surrounding myself with Curly Girl schwag. The blog, the cards, and the messages of your products inspire me daily. Thank you for reminding me that there is always room for a little whit and whimsy in every day life. 🙂
From one curly girl to another, all I can say is: CURL POWER!!!
I just love curly girl..I found you on a road trip with my best friends to the Oregon flock and Fiber event where we were going to get supplies and inspiration for our fiber creations…You were in a store that we stopped at in Eugene Oregon. We all fell in love with everything that you create and I have been addicted to your site ever since!!! We believe that we can change the world! Every day, just a little! Create a great day!

Add me to the lovefest! I found Curly Girl cards for the first time on Cape Cod while on vacation a few years ago. I stocked up on several. Some were purchased for sending—others I knew I would save for myself. Since then I’ve given your items as birthday gifts and regulr ol’ Tuesday mood boosters to friends (and myself). I have cards, plaques, prints, a candle, a necklace and other Curly Girl designs sprinkled throughout my house to add inspiration to my day and put a smile on my face. Can’t wait to get a canvas—I’m giving my husband BIG hints on that one!
I am sitting now in my office looking at one of my favorite Curly Girl prints – signed by Leigh no less. “I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world”. Does that not say it all to us “Curly Girls”???
My dear friend Jen introduced me to Curly Girl Designs and they have since become the mottos of our group. We too are firm believes in good friends, good wine, anything with sprinkles and most definitely tiaras! Thank you for hitting the finer points of girlfriends dead on!
I love Curly Girl – you go Curls!!! I am a busy mom of two and every thing about Curly Girl makes me SMILE!!! I LOVE “I sing OPERA in the shower – I’m very good – all of my shampoos tink so.” It’s SO ME!!! xxoo
What is not to love about Curly Girl?! A couple years ago, I was stopped dead in my tracks while shopping in a little boutique… cards, notepads, and thank you notes….. oh my! After purchasing all in sight, I was in love. Your work is the most inspirational thing that I have read. It makes me believe I am unstoppable and more importantly, it reminds me to live each day to the fullest and remember why I am here. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am obsessed with your work. My collection of Curly Girl calendars, cards, matches, mirrors, notepads, journals, and sticky notes will always remind me to be girly and to never stop living life for one second. I have been waiting, since I saw the sneak peak, to purchase many of the t-shirts and a key ring that I had hoped to get for Christmas. I can’t even explain what happens when I read the quotes. It is like they remove me from all that is going on around me and it is a nice time out to reflect. As my wedding draws closer, I have been collecting things for my bridesmaids’ gifts. Curly Girl tees will be in their bags, without a doubt. Regardless of whether or not I win one, this was a great way to say Thank You. You make a difference, you are someone to look up to. Keep doing what you do… you are a gift to us.

I love your products and now I am a fan, when I do get the chance to splurge on myself I can’t wait to get on of your great inspiration prints!
Thank you for being you~
