Happy Friday! As I have been waiting patiently for these babies to come, I have been busy in the studio getting our October release finished and our January release started! This will be the first year we have ever done a little October release of new product, but we are trying it out. We want to keep our shops full and happy with new fun things as we careen into the holiday season. It is also a more reasonable pacing for me. We will try it out and see how it goes!
The good news for you is that you get sneak peeks of things you don't have to wait until January for! A tiny bit thrilling isn't it?
I am pretty excited about this launch. I started by updating an old favorite of mine (this is the laptop skin that I have on MY laptop…). I first made this artwork in 2002 before Curly Girl Design was but a twinkle in my eye. I still love the artwork, and the general vibe of this piece, but you can see how my illustration style has changed over the years, and I wanted to keep this one current.
The one up top is a slightly more graphic and modern version that I hope still has the same whimsy that the older one did. I am really happy with it…I kinda think the canvas version will be a perfect addition to my little girl's room someday…or maybe her Mamma's…
I would love to know what you think!
A little baby update: they are still in there, sitting tight. I am 37 weeks on Sunday and they won't leave them in there past 38 weeks… so hopefully they will make their debut sometime this week! Or we are goin' in after them. I am starting to get a little crabby and dear sweet Lord do I feel humungous! My skin is itchy and my feet look like Shrek's. I think it is safe to say that I am ready for them to come…my Mom gets here tomorrow…so anytime after that. I welcome all prayers, juju, good thoughts and positive vibes for a safe and healthy delivery! Thanks to those of you who are checking in! xo
Oh my goodness, I love, love, love it. I love the big sentiments but the tiny sentiments and words (like splendid) really make me love your stuff! Can’t wait to pick this one up!
Love the new version. Hoping all goes well for the BIG day! 🙂
I love it! (Which is not surprising!)
Best of luck Leigh! Fingers crossed for good health all around
Enjoy a few days of moms pampering and then you will be ready for your own personal circus comes to town! Best wishes to all.
You have my prayers and thoughts for an easy delivery!! The first few weeks are so exciting, tiring, happy and fast!! Take lots of photos, you will appreciate them later.
Good luck!
Love the update! It’s a bit easier to see the words, and like the other commenter said, I often adore your smaller sentiments even more than the main one! I especially love the use of fabric in the skirt and the collar. Perfect and very whimsical!
I’ll be sending tons of prayers for a natural start to the delivery and a safe, healthy one for you and the babes. With artwork like this to look forward to on the outside, who wouldn’t want to come out? 😀
This has been and still is my favorite of all your designs! All throughout high school I joked that I was going to drop out and join the circus. I loved the old design but I also love the new one just as much! 😀 Whimsical and beautiful! Best of luck with the babies!
Leigh 🙂
You and the babies have been on my mind a LOT the last few days!! Sending you many happy thoughts, good vibes, etc… for a smooth, easy delivery. SO excited for you! I’m sure you’re exhausted and justifiably so, but try to enjoy the last little bit of being pregnant if you can. Not the itchies, and back aches, just the movement and the calm – you’ll probably miss it a little at some point. Between Coach, your Mom & your girlfriends I know you’ll be in great hands!!! Wishing you all the best!!!
Love the redo! I think I might need to follow her!
Congratulations on making it this far. May your little ones come at just the right time. I highly recommend getting a maternity massage this week. You deserve it! (I’m an LMT. Please be sure to find someone certified in maternity massage who uses pregnancy cushions and not a hole in the table. Email if you want help finding a referral.) Hang in there, mommy!
Love the redo! All my best wishes on your labor and delivery. May it all go safely and quickly! And remember, one of the miraculous things about childbirth is how the wonder and joy will take over the moment you see your precious babies and see the look in your husband’s eyes ….and you have a great “Coach” by your side!
Best wishes to you and the new additions to your family – my guess is that they’ll be just as creative as you!
Good luck Leigh and Coach! Thinking of you guys
Loved the “yearning phrase” on the card… as well as the rest of the card! Best wishes, thougts and prayers for the upcoming stork delivery!!
I have always loved this card! Still do! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and I hope you don’t have to go too much longer! Praying to St. Gerard for a safe delivery:)
Love the original and the redo. Both are so cute! Thoughts and prayers for a safe delivery of your precious little cargo.
Sending lots of good vibes your way! Love the look of the revamped card too! Good luck!!!
hey Leigh! We were just thinking about you and checked in to see if we had missed babies..alas! ESA is sending positive peaceful thoughts your way. Namaste <3
